Privacy Notice

We collect information you and your school provide directly, including account details (such as name, email address, username, and role), school information (such as school name, city, and state), and Content you submit through the Service (such as lesson plans, quizzes, scholar reports, calendar entries, and messages). We also collect limited technical information automatically, such as log data and basic usage information, to operate and secure the Service.

Schools may place information about students into the Service in order to support instruction, reporting, and communication with families. We process student information only to provide the Service to the school and at the school’s direction. We do not sell student information, and we do not use it for advertising or to build profiles for purposes unrelated to the Service.

We use personal information to: (a) provide, maintain, and improve the Service; (b) authenticate users and secure accounts; (c) send service-related communications, such as reminders and notices; (d) provide support; and (e) comply with legal obligations. We process information based on our legitimate interest in operating the Service, to perform our agreement with your school, and with consent where required.

We share information within your school according to each user’s role, so that administrators, teachers, parents, and students see what they need and nothing more. We use trusted service providers (for example, hosting and payment processing) who handle information on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the Service. We do not sell personal information.

Paid subscriptions are processed by a third-party payment processor. Payment card details are handled by that processor and are not stored by us. The processor’s handling of your information is governed by its own privacy terms.

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service to your school and for legitimate business or legal purposes. When a school’s account is closed, we will delete or de-identify associated personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse, including role-based access controls and encrypted credentials. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard the information entrusted to us.

You may access and update certain account information through the Service. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Because schools control the student information they place in the Service, requests concerning a student should be directed to the relevant school; we will support schools in responding to such requests. The Service is used by schools that may include students under the age of 13. We collect and process student information only at the direction of, and on behalf of, the school, which is responsible for providing any notices and obtaining any consents required by law.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated notice.
